Fast Touch

At the beginning of the period a group of us was challenged to pass a tennis ball as fast as we can and have everyone touch it. So my group knew we had to have our hands close. In order to make the passing faster we made a spiral with our hands, kinda like a swirly slide. We got under 2 seconds.

Survival

You are stranded on a raft with matches and some supplies, what's the most important:

My Choices
#1: A 25 liter container of water, a person can only go 3 days without water which makes it very important
#2: A 10 liter can of oil/ petrol mixture, you can start a fire with the oil and matches
#3: A fishing kit, able to catch food from sea

My Group's Choices
#1: A 25 liter container of water
#2: A case of army rations, needed as food
#3: A fishing kit

Coast Guards' Choices
#1: A shaving mirror, to signal using reflections
#2: A 10 liter can of oil/ petrol mixture
#3: A 25 liter container of water

This was a critical thinking and problem solving activity that used communication and arguments to decide what to survive with. I enjoyed this project but it was a "life or death" situation and we worked in groups.
