Funtional Analysis

 
1. What is the purpose or primary function of the object?
To provide entertainment

2. Make an educated guess as to how this product operates. Use simple machines’ terminology to explain the object’s sequential operation.


 
 
4. What mechanical components are visible?
  • The buttons
  •  The touch screen
  • The game the player inserts
  •  The reclining top visible.



5. What is it about this device’s function that you cannot identify, because the mechanical components are hidden from plain view?
  • Electricity going through
  • Gears inside the game
  • Codes that are being transferred through the game

    Your "Black Box" function slide does a good job communicating the inputs and outputs of a DS's functionality. I was about to say "How about button presses for another input?" but I see now that you have "Controls" listed.

    What's your favorite game to play on the DS? Does the unique functionality of the DS (stylus/dual screen) make that a better experience?
